1. Define the qualifications required of osteopathic physicians for certification in pediatrics and any other specialty or field of practice that may be assigned to this Board.
2. Determine the qualifications of osteopathic physicians for certification in pediatrics and of any other specialty or field of practice that may be assigned to it.
3. Conduct examinations in conformity with the Bylaws of this Board.
4. Issue certificates subject to the approval of the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists of the AOA, to those osteopathic physicians who are found qualified.
5. Recommend revocation of certificates for cause.
6. Use every means possible to maintain a high standard of practice within the osteopathic profession.

Board
The American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics is composed of seven distinguished osteopathic pediatricians elected by the AOA Board of Trustees from nominees submitted by the American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians (ACOP). The current members of the board constitute over one hundred years of dedication and practice in the osteopathic profession.
